Greetings fellow citizens;
I am excited about the prospect of serving the citizens of Rogers County as your sheriff,
an office that carries a tremendous weight of responsibility.

I have worked in law enforcement over half my life with twenty-six years (and counting)
service as a Tulsa Police Officer, a career choice I made because it gave me the
opportunity to serve and protect the public.
Far from being "burned out" by twenty-six years of serving the community, I still look
forward to going to work and continue to enjoy what I do as a police officer. At this
point in my professional life, the most comfortable choice would be for me to continue
my responsibilities in Tulsa until I retire.

However, the easiest decision is not always the right one. After much thought, I have
come to realize that my experiences have prepared me for greater responsibility and
service and I am ready to take on both.
Those of us in law enforcement understand that doing our job is based mostly on
common sense and as any good patrol officer knows, this common sense continues to
develop along with the skills that improve in the course of responding to daily calls for
service. With time, these skills should become more refined as the officer is exposed to
thousands of varied challenges through the years. Different assignments throughout my
career have prepared me to manage the challenges I would confront as your sheriff.

As a twenty-three year Rogers County resident, I am not willing to continue with the
status quo in the sheriff's office. To become a department known for its responsiveness
to citizens, qualified leadership is essential, as the sheriff must provide a good example to
his deputies. As the sheriff goes-so goes his office.

My goal is to train, develop, and equip the most professional and responsive department
Rogers County has ever employed. The office of sheriff is a twenty-four hour-a-day
commitment.

The citizens pay for a full-time sheriff and that is who the taxpayers will elect with a
vote for Cole Butler.
